CIA, FBI, Military and Me - See the True Story Below!
We buy the best certified organic cattle and pigs from family farms and ranches. Traced from birth, these organic animals only eat organic grasses, never receive growth promotants or antibiotics, and are looked after and treated with care every day. Our animals graze every day and are finished according to our grainfed organic protocol for no more than 120 days.
Our livestock graze organic pastures every day of the grazing season. They grow and gain weight with the rest of their herd. Off season, they get daily access to hay. Never crowded or confined to a muddy pen, they can all eat at the same time. There's no competition for food, shelter, shade, or water.
Our organic grains are non-GMO, and grown on organic cropland free from chemical contaminants to give you that great grainfed organic taste. We minimally process and blend these grains for a healthy, nutirtious, and tasty diet for our cattle and pigs. Our animals are never taken off grass to make them eat grains, they always have a choice of what they will eat.
Our products ship in recyclable containers using dry ice made from industrial byproducts. We use renewable energy sources throughout our production and distribution.
No. We're exclusively focused on grainfed organic beef and pork. We're not here to create confusion in the market by putting these products side by side.
Our livestock come from organic certified family farms and ranches in the West and Midwest US. We consult with them regulalrly on animal health, wefare, and humane treatment. Humane treatment is assured, and humane treatment certifications are in place or underway.
Our grains and unique pasture-based finishing system produce extraordinary quality products. In a recent test conducted by a University with a strong reputation in animal agriculture, a blind test clearly demonstrated the enhanced quality of grainfed organic beef. Graded on the same day by the same inspectors, pasture finished animals graded 73% premium Choice compared with only 45% for the animals raised in a conventional feedlot.
We use regenerative agricultural practices wherever we can. We practice mob grazing so cattle and pigs do not select certain plants over others. They eat them all and quickly move on. Our animals clip the grasses, then the grasses are rested and watered for a few weeks in the case of our irrigated organic pastures, and until the next grazing period a few months later for most of our dryland pastures. We use mixes of native grasses, grains, and other naturally occuring plants to add diversity and food for wildlife in our pastures. Our animals are fenced out of watercourses and drink from troughs, not streams or ponds.
Since we grow grasses and grains for our primary food source, the sun is our primary source of energy. We currently run biodiesel blends in our tractors. We are looking forward to converting to electric farm tractors, and other vehicles and equipment, whenever possible.
Our animal husbandry team is the best. Many of them have worked with animals since they were young. We emphasize human and animal safety in our training, using gentle handling techniques and keeping handling to a minimum. Animals are quite intelligent, catch on quickly, and make their own individual and group decisions about whether they want to cooperate. Mostly we get along well with them and they easily do what we encourage. Once in a while, they would rather do something else. We always treat them gently, using persuasion, not force, to encourage them to make the choices we would prefer they make.
Our animals are raised in pastures where each animal has atbout 30 times as much space as a feedlot animal. Grass, not a muddy or dusty lot, is the way to create a great tasting product. It gives our animals a much better quality of life than they would ever have in a dusty, muddy lot, or cooped up and crowded indoors.
